Barn Hunt is an exciting sport  where dogs use their hunting instincts to search a course of straw bales and find rats which are hidden in plastic tubes. For teams new to Barn Hunt, the course begins with foundation skills including introduction to the rat, tube discrimination, and building an indication. Teams will learn climbing and tunneling skills on the course and have opportunities to practice instinct tests and novice runs. BHA rules and strategies for successful runs will be reviewed. Become familiar with the BH Association rule book at www.barnhunt.com. The rats are acclimated to the process and are not harmed in any way. If we have more advanced teams sign up, we will adjust the class accordingly. Class will focus on preparing the team to compete for their Novice BH Title & practice skills for the Open level.
