This class is an introduction to basic obedience skills and good manners for your dog. Dogs will learn to sit, down, stay, walk with you, and come as well as useful commands such as “leave it” and name recognition. The goal of the class is for you to build a working relationship with your dog so that your dog is a responsible member of the household and the community. Specific issues can be addressed such as your dog jumping on people coming into your home.
The class is geared toward teaching basic skills in a format that prepares the handler/dog team to pursue additional training in rally, obedience, agility or other venues. You and your dog would have the foundation to do advanced training.

Dogs that are under a year old can earn an AKC Puppy Star title in this class if the requirements are met – please let the instructor know you are interested.

REQUIREMENTS: Dogs must be 4 months or older. Owner must show proof of a negative fecal test and a shot record which is age appropriate for the dog.
