Catherine Byrne

Carol Jarchow

Catherine Byrne and her Jack Russell terrier, Bebe, enrolled in the first nosework classes offered in our area in 2010. Starting with National Association of Canine Scent Work (NACSW) trials, Bebe was the first of her breed to earn the NW3, NW3-C, NW3-V, NW3-E and NW3 Elite 2 titles. In 2019, she completed her United Kennel Club Elite Nosework title. Also in 2019, Bebe was the fifth dog to earn the American Kennel Club Scent Work Master title and was the first dog of any breed to earn AKC Scent Work Exterior and Interior Master Elite titles. In 2021, Bebe joined a handful of dogs who have earned all four AKC Scent Work Elite titles. In this journey, Catherine and Bebe have attended numerous seminars lead by NACSW founders and officials, worked with professional scent detection trainers and volunteered at many trials. She continues her scent-detection education with seminars, webinars and online courses at Fenzi Dog Sports Academy.
