The first 5 sessions of this class will  focus on preparing you and your dog for the CGC (Canine Good Citizen) test. This will include exercises such as walking on a loose leash, sit, down, stay, come, meet and greet. The CGC test will be offered during the final session . Dogs must be 1 year or older to qualify for an AKC CGC certificate. Mixed breeds are welcome must be enrolled in the AKC Canine Partners program or have a PAL # to submit test results to AKC. Please bring plenty of small treats to train with (hot dogs cut into dime size pieces work well) and do not feed your dog prior to class. Also the instructor suggests training your dog on a short leash (2-3 feet long depending on the size of your dog). Dogs must be trained on a slip, martingale, or buckle collar (halters, prongs or other training devices are not permitted for the CGC).
